A program for parents in Pitt County is looking for members for next year’s class.
The Parent Engagement Program is for parents and community members interested in learning about education and advocacy in the county school system. The purpose of the training is to help those interested in strengthening public education become better education advocates.
The program is led by Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County.
Topics include leadership, testing, finance and learning styles.
As a part of the training, each participant identifies an educational issue or issues of interest to them and works towards formulating a plan to impact that issue.
Right now, the program is accepting applications for next year. The deadline is August 15.
