Substation problem blamed for Greenville power outage

A problem at a substation is blamed for a power outage in west Greenville Monday morning.

Greenville Utilities says about 18,000 customers were affected by the outage.

It happened around 9:11 a.m. Power was restored about half an hour later.

The outage happened due to a problem in the Greenville 230 kV West Substation located on MacGregor Downs Road. The cause of the outage is under investigation.
