Local Girl Scouts deliver cookies to Marines

Local Girl Scouts are delivering boxes of cookies to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point on Monday.

It is all part of “Operation Cookie Drop”.  The 8,600 boxes will be shopped to Marines based out of Cherry Point, along with letters.

The Scouts will also tour a VMR-1 helicopter and meet with some Marines.

Girl Scouts across Central and Eastern North Carolina collected enough donations for the “Operation Cookie Drop” program to buy 78, 000 boxes of cookies and are now delivering them to Marine, Army and Air Force personnel.

3,600 boxes will be delivered to the USO center in Jacksonville on May 19th.
