George Crocker is the Digital Content Manager for WNCT 9 On Your Side.

George Crocker joined the WNCT 9 On Your Side news team in October of 2005. He is currently the Digital Content Manager for WNCT 9 On Your Side.

George’s aunt always called him her little “Peter Jennings” because of the love he showed for TV news at an early age.

In high school, he got involved in New Bern High School’s journalism program, serving as the news editor and then editor of the school newspaper, The Arcadian. After graduation, he attended East Carolina University, where he studied Theatre Arts and Communication.

Years later, he started a website about television news in eastern Carolina called ENCDTV.com. The site cataloged the happenings at the area television stations in Greenville, New Bern, and Washington, eventually expanding to cover stations in the Triangle and Wilmington.

The success of the site reignited his passion for TV news and encouraged him to once again pursue his goal to work in broadcast journalism.

In October of 2005, George joined WNCT-TV as the Nightside Video Editor and was quickly moved to the position of Online Producer of wnct.com early the next year, a position he’s held ever since. In 2008, he even got the chance to front his own segment, “Just Delete It,” which looked at bogus e-mail scams appearing in area inboxes.

George is proud to be a member of the 9 On Your Side team!

In his free time, you can find him spending quality time with friends and family, working out at the gym, and exploring eastern Carolina.

Feel free to contact him with your story ideas, suggestions for wnct.com and 9 On Your Side, or just to say hello.
