Hundreds are getting together to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day early in Greenville.
Tomorrow the celebration kicks off at 2:30 p.m. with the official ribbon cutting of the Uptown parking deck.
The event will feature live music starting at 3 p.m. by “Bill Redding and Friends,” followed by a parade at 4 p.m.
Following the parade, the party and music will continue with “The Lonely Biscuits” at Five Points Plaza.
Uptown director Bianca Shoneman says while the parade is only in its second year, it’s part of a bigger picture for the city.
“We’re always looking to make more cultural offerings here at the community at large,” said Shoneman. “We feel that in order to have a great sense of pride of where you live, community events help us instill that and we’re looking to expand our community repertoire of events.”
Despite the First Alert Weather Team forecasting rain for tomorrow, Shoneman says the events will proceed whether rain or shine.
St. Patrick’s Day is officially Tuesday, March 17th.
