Assault charges have been dropped against an Outer Banks police chief and his wife.
In November, Nags Head Police Chief Kevin Brinkley and his wife Rochelle were each charged with simple assault after a domestic dispute in their home.
The charges were dismissed yesterday in Currituck County District Court.

There’s new information in the case of the Nags Head police chief suspended following an assault charge against him.
His wife, who he is accused of assaulting, has also been charged.
The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office tells 9 On Your Side the husband and wife are both out on bond stemming from the Friday incident.
Deputies say Rochelle Brinkley alleges her husband, Kevin Brinkley, choked her on Friday.
Chief Brinkley was arrested on Friday and told deputies his wife also assaulted him, by throwing a statue.
A warrant was issued for Rochelle Brinkley and she was arrested Monday.
Both will be in court for the assault next month.
