Regional early college to move to Martin County

A regional early college in the east is moving to Martin County and will lease one of the district’s buildings.

The Northeast Regional School of Biotechnology and Agriscience will take over the former Jamesville Middle School.

In May, Martin County Schools decided to close the middle school due to low enrollment.
For the past two school years, the early college held classes at the Tidewater Research Station in Washington County. While the school will still use that space, its students and classrooms will move to Jamesville.
It’s funded by tax dollars and grant money and serves students in Beaufort, Martin, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington counties
Their first day is August 4th.
